Small skin lumps are generally quicker and simpler to remove than larger masses.

Lump location

Some areas, such as the ears, face, paws or tail, require more delicate surgery than lumps on the body.

If your cat has more than one lump, many owners choose to have them removed during the same anaesthetic.

Laboratory testing

Histopathology is often recommended to identify exactly what the lump is and whether it has been completely removed. Histopathology cost is not included in package price.

 

Blood testing

Pre-anaesthetic blood testing may be recommended, particularly for senior cats or those with existing medical conditions. Pre-anaesthetic blood cost is not included in package price.

Should Every Cat Lump Be Removed?

 

Not always.

​

Some lumps can simply be monitored.

​

Others may benefit from a Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA), while some are best removed before they continue to grow or become ulcerated.
