Vicki – Head Veterinary Nurse

 

Vicki is the heart of our nursing team and has been caring for pets and their families at Fortitude Valley Vet for over five years. Her journey with the clinic actually began before then, joining us as a veterinary nursing student before the COVID-19 pandemic.

​

Starting her career during such an extraordinary time meant Vicki supported countless families through the challenges of the pandemic, celebrating recoveries, comforting worried owners and helping pets through some of life's toughest moments. Those experiences shaped the compassionate, calm and reassuring nurse that so many of our clients know and trust today.

​

Known for her warmth and genuine kindness, Vicki has built lasting relationships with many families who have been bringing their pets to the clinic for years.

​

Outside of work, Vicki has a special love for cats and shares her home with two feline companions who were originally stray kittens brought into our clinic. Watching them grow into cherished family members is one of her favourite reminders of why she chose veterinary nursing.

Rachel – Senior Veterinary Nurse

 

Rachel has been an integral part of Fortitude Valley Vet for over four years and is well known for her exceptional customer service and friendly personality.

​

Whether she's helping a nervous puppy settle into its first visit or supporting owners through more complex medical appointments, Rachel has a natural ability to make both pets and people feel welcome.

Outside the treatment room, Rachel also manages much of the clinic's social media, sharing educational content and everyday moments from life at Fortitude Valley Vet.

​

At home, Rachel is kept entertained by her two adopted Ragdoll cats, Louie and Thelma, both rescued from an animal shelter.

​

Rachel speaks English, Mandarin and Chinese.

Minji – Veterinary Nurse

 

Minji joined Fortitude Valley Vet as a veterinary nursing student before becoming a valued member of our nursing team.

​

Before beginning her veterinary career, Minji spent several years travelling the world, experiences that helped shape her warm, adaptable personality and appreciation for different cultures. Combined with her strong customer service background, she enjoys helping every client feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit.

​

When she's not at work, Minji enjoys spending time with her much-loved French Bulldog.

​

Minji speaks English, Korean and Spanish.

Angel – Veterinary Nurse

 

Angel recently joined Fortitude Valley Vet as a full-time veterinary nurse after spending the previous year working with us on a part-time basis while completing her studies.

​

Although she's allergic to cats, that certainly hasn't stopped her from pursuing her passion for animal care. Her enthusiasm, determination and positive attitude have quickly made her a valued member of our nursing team.

​

Before entering the veterinary profession, Angel worked as a professional bubble tea (boba) maker—a career change that often becomes a fun conversation with clients.

​

Angel speaks English, Mandarin and Chinese.

Skye – Veterinary Nurse

 

Skye first joined Fortitude Valley Vet as a veterinary nursing student before becoming a valued member of our nursing team.

​

They bring enthusiasm, kindness and genuine compassion to every shift, enjoying the opportunity to continue learning while helping provide outstanding care for every patient that comes through our doors.

​

Outside the clinic, Skye has a passion for acting and spends much of their free time developing their performance skills. Their creativity, confidence and ability to connect with people naturally complement their role in veterinary nursing.

Dr Chloe

BVMS

Dr Chloe joined Fortitude Valley Vet as after graduating from Murdoch University, and has grown into a highly respected member of our veterinary team.

​

She has developed particular interests in diagnostic ultrasound, soft tissue surgery and veterinary dentistry, and enjoys combining advanced diagnostics with practical treatment plans that improve her patients' quality of life.

​

Her passion for surgery extends beyond the clinic, with her partner currently undertaking specialist training in veterinary orthopaedic surgery, making veterinary medicine a frequent topic of conversation at home.

​

Dr Chloe speaks English, Mandarin and Chinese.

Dr Jun

BVSc

Dr Jun joined Fortitude Valley Vet in late 2025, bringing several years of experience from a long-established companion animal practice.

​

He has a special interest in palliative care and end-of-life support, helping families navigate some of the most difficult moments they may experience with compassion, empathy and dignity. His calm and thoughtful approach provides reassurance to both clients and colleagues alike.

​

Dr Jun speaks English and Korean.

Can I speak to someone in my own language?

​

Yes. Our team includes veterinarians and veterinary nurses who collectively speak English, Mandarin, Thai, Korean and Spanish. If you'd prefer to communicate in one of these languages, simply let our reception team know when booking your appointment and we'll do our best to arrange this whenever possible.

​

Do you have Mandarin-speaking vets?

​

Yes. Members of our veterinary team speak Mandarin and English, helping us support many Brisbane families who feel more comfortable discussing their pet's healthcare in Mandarin.

​

Do you have Korean-speaking staff?

​

Yes. We have Korean-speaking veterinarians and veterinary nurses who are happy to assist Korean-speaking pet owners whenever possible.
