Frequently Asked Questions
Are all lumps cancerous?
No. Many skin lumps are benign. However, it isn't always possible to know exactly what a lump is simply by looking at it. If you're concerned, it's always best to have it examined.
Does every lump need surgery?
No. Some lumps can simply be monitored, while others may benefit from a Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA) or surgical removal. We'll discuss the most appropriate option for your pet.
Does every lump need to be sent to the laboratory?
Not always. Histopathology provides a definitive diagnosis and is often recommended, particularly if there is concern about the nature of the lump. We'll discuss the pros and cons with you before proceeding.
Can multiple lumps be removed during one anaesthetic?
Yes. Many owners choose to have several lumps removed during the same procedure, which is usually more cost-effective than scheduling multiple anaesthetics.
How long will my pet stay at the clinic?
Most pets are admitted in the morning and return home later the same afternoon once they have recovered from their anaesthetic.

Additional uncomplicated lumps removed during the same anaesthetic are generally charged from $200–300, depending on their size and complexity.
